How NestSolver Works
A look at the three-step process and how to read the result.
Three steps to optimal cuts
Enter your cuts
Stock length, kerf, and a list of parts. Add blocked zones for defects or edge trims, and set a minimum-drop threshold so anything shorter becomes scrap.
Optimize instantly
Multiple strategies find the best arrangement. No waiting, no trial-and-error.
Review your plan

How to read your plan
The bars
Each bar shows every cut laid out in order. Solid bands are parts, thin amber bands are kerf between cuts, and the right end is whatever's left over.
Drops vs scrap
A drop is a leftover longer than your minimum-drop setting — usable. Scrap is shorter than that, so it's discarded. Both count against yield.
The metrics table
Yield is the share of stock that became parts. Kerf, blocked, and scrap columns break down where the rest went, so you can see at a glance whether waste is from the blade, defects, or short drops.
Same cut list. Fewer bars.
The exact same parts, cut in the order you'd list them versus nested by NestSolver. Less stock bought, less waste binned.
